Sadly, I can't upload my pictures to my computer due to missing equipment (you know that little wire that hooks the camera to the computer?).
With this in mind, it's a good thing my roomie Austin is on top of his camera equipment.

On Saturday October 3, we are hosting our 3rd Street League tournament for 9 different orphanages in the capital city of Maseru. In the meantime, let's all put our good faith and hope in Austin's expertise behind the lens.

Starting off the morning with...
Wheatbix with milk, instant coffee, and an orange. Hopped in the car with my roommate/coworker/teammate/buddy Austin, 5 minute drive to the office, put on some ACDC. Started bloggin.
The rest of the day will go something like this:
9:00 am: Go to local Shoprite grocery store to pick up 70 loaves of bread, 25 bags of apples, and 14 bags of water cups for our soccer tournament this Sunday. The tournament will be held once a month for the course of the year. Teams are made up of orphaned kids from around Maseru. They play a bunch of 7v7 games, do some Kick 4 Life activities, then end the day with dancing, poetry and maybe some drama performances.
10:00 am: Drive to the "Training of Trainers" site, about 10 km from our office. A "TOT" is week-long session where new coaches are trained to deliver the K4L curriculum to kids. Today we are graduating about 42 new coaches. At the site, we will collect "post-challenge" survey results, which will measure in 15 questions how much the new coaches have learned this week. Enter results of survey into a spreadsheet, and it calculates the percentage difference between the "pre" and "post" survey. Microsoft Excel is a powerful tool.
Judging from this picture, my niece Zoë is very thorough with her documents. She will be good with Microsoft Excel.
12:00 pm: Drive to Pete's (my boss) house where jerseys are being washed for Sunday's tournament. Take laundry to office.
12:30ish-1:30ish: Lunch, probably of "papa", local food here made of corn maize, and pork slices. Tasty. "Papa" is basically grits in a more solid form.
1:30pm: Create a large schedule and scoreboard for the tournament this weekend. No telling how long this will take, or if we can find materials to do it, but it's a potential afternoon activity.
3:00? 4:00?: Go to hardware store with Austin and get apartment equipment like trash cans, wood to make a small coffee table near our front door, door mats, light bulbs, blah blah blah etc.
5:00pm: Soccer practice.
6:30pm: Make dinner plans for out-of-town guests from Kimberly. Some other Grassroot Soccer interns are coming to visit for the weekend.
7:00pm-2:00am: Pick up guests at the Lesotho/South Africa border, general merry-making will ensue.
Saturday: As-of-now-unplanned day trip somewhere in Lesotho.
Sunday: Soccer tournament setup, soccer tournament, 3:00pm my first real soccer game of season with new team. We are hoping to advance to the "premier" league this year, which is the top league in Lesotho. In order to do this, we have to finish first in our league, which is the 1st division. Ole!
